Match day 7 of the FAWNL got underway on Sunday 26th September as teams looked to build on their starts to the season.

FAWNL DIVISION 1 NORTH
Chorley 2 v 1 Durham Cestria
Chorley got back to winning ways in the league with a solid victory over Durham Cestria.
The hosts rushed out of the blocks and took the lead in the 4th minute. Cara Jones calmly finished a through ball from Meg Searson.
The hosts doubled their lead in the second half when Rachel Hindle powered home a header.
Durham Cestria managed to pull one back through Meg Elliott, but it was too late to launch a comeback.
Leeds United 3 v 1 Chester le Street Town
Leeds United made it four games unbeaten with a comfortable win at home to Chester le Street.
Laura Bartup scored her sixth goal of the season to fire her side ahead in the 13th minute. Hannah Freibach then doubled the score just before the break.
Immediately after half-time, Bartup added another, sealing her brace from close range. The visitors pulled one back through Jess White in the final minute.
Liverpool Feds 1 v 0 Newcastle United
Liverpool Feds headed to the top of the table, ending Newcastle’s unbeaten start to the season in the process.
Emily Douglas scored the only goal of the game for the hosts to ensure the victory for her side.
Norton & Stockton Ancients 0 v 2 FC United of Manchester
It’s been an impressive start to FAWNL life for FC United and they maintained their winning streak on Sunday afternoon.
They took the lead in the 13th minute when their captain, Kirsty Chambers, converted from a free kick.
They made sure of the points with five minutes left to play when Ellie Rigby scored a stunning goal.
Stockport County 3 v 2 Barnsley
Stockport earned their first win of this campaign, edging past a battling Barnsley side.
Nat Shaw opened the scoring for the visitors, converting from 18 yards out. But Stockport hit back shortly after through Olivia Wild.
With 20 minutes left to play, the hosts took the lead when Maria Figueiredo turned home a rebounded effort. And Jess Battle extended the gap, beating Serena Clarke one-on-one.
Shaw pulled one back for Barnsley deep into injury time, but it wasn’t enough to mount a comeback as Stockport held on for the three points.
FAWNL DIVISION 1 MIDLANDS
Burton Albion 1 v 5 Leek Town
Leek Town made it back-to-back victories with an emphatic win away to Burton.
Katie Gibbons gave the visitors the lead with 15 minutes on the clock before Paris O’Connor made it two almost immediately. O’Connor then doubled her tally with a close-range finish on the verge of half-time.
Burton pulled one back early in the second half when Milly Wortley smashed a loose ball home from inside the box.
But Leek Town didn’t let up. Gibbons notched her brace with a fantastic half-volley before Alana Copeland reacted quickest in the box to wrap up the scoring.
Leafield Athletic 0 v 3 Doncaster Belles
Donny Belles made it back-to-back league wins as they travelled to Leafield.
The visitors took the lead just before the break when Izzy Trevillion’s volley got the best of the keeper. And they doubled their lead minutes later, Jasmine Saxton finishing off a delightful run with a powered effort.
They added a third deep into injury time as Lily Wishart’s looping cross hit the back of the net.
Long Eaton United 1 v 0 Boldmere St. Michaels
Long Eaton made it three games unbeaten with a big victory over league leaders, Boldmere.
Molly Boultbee scored the only goal of the game to seal the three points for her side.
Wem Town 3 v 2 Bedworth United
Wem Town battled past Bedworth to get back to winning ways.
Kirsty Farnsworth fired the struggling visitors into the lead, but Wem Town recovered to lead 2-1 at the break.
Lottie Rosevear scored on her Bedworth debut. However, Wem Town scored a third to seal the three points.
Gemma Baxter-Smith scored a brace for the hosts while Katie Doster got the other goal.
Sporting Khalsa 3 v 1 Holwell Sports
Sporting Khalsa came from behind to seal three points against Holwell Sports.
The visitors took the lead early on through Courtney Cropper. But Khalsa hit back just four minutes later through Bailey-Raine Hodge.
Rebecca Gill-Parsons gave her side the lead shortly after the break before Chloe Handy added another in the 59th minute to ensure the win for her side.
Solihull Moors 2 v 6 Peterborough United
Peterborough returned to winning ways in a goal-fest away to Solihull Moors.
Keir Perkins got the scoring up and running for the visitors, firing them into the lead in the 11th minute. Solihull did hit back when Chloe Coldicott equalised with their first opportunity of the match. But Peterborough re-took the lead through Beatriz Borque before the break.
Hannah Pendred extended the score early in the second period before Cassie Steward made it four shortly after.
Charlotte Leedham narrowed the deficit for the hosts, but they couldn’t stop more Peterborough goals. Jess Driscoll added another before Laura Dodwell wrapped up the scoring with five minutes left to play.
FAWNL DIVISION 1 SOUTH EAST
Cambridge City 2 v 2 QPR
The spoils were shared as QPR travelled to Cambridge on Sunday afternoon.
Grace Stanley kept up her good scoring form with a brace for the hosts.
QPR’s goals came from Brogan Moore and Erin Pope.
Cambridge United 0 v 6 Hashtag United
Hashtag United maintained their strong run of form with another high-scoring victory away to Cambridge United.
They took the lead very early on when Madelyn Thomas slotted home. Malika Apindia doubled the score before Grace Gillard converted from distance. Gemma Abela added a fourth just before the break.
Kelly Wealthall added another in the second, converting Sasha Adamson’s through ball. Adamson then got one for herself, heading home from close range.
Enfield Town 2 v 2 Actonians
Enfield Town fought back to earn a point against a strong Actonians side.
All four goals came in the first half. Klesha Darroux fired Enfield into the lead before Justine Buckmire equalised just a minute later.
The visitors then took the lead through Roschelle Shakes. But Katie O’Leary continued her good run of form in front of goal to level the score.
Kent Football United 1 v 4 Norwich City
Norwich City earned their second win of the season away to Kent Football United.
Kathryn Stanley was clinical early on to fire the visitors into the lead. Natasha Snelling then doubled the score with a looping finish. Jodie Drake made it three just before the break.
Kent pulled one back in the second half through Amy Panayi. But substitute, Reanna Cook, restored the deficit with her first touch of the game.
London Seaward 3 v 2 Harlow Town
London Seaward returned to winning ways with a narrow win over Harlow Town.
Abbey Dell fired the hosts into the lead with just 21 seconds on the clock, a spectacular effort from distance. Harlow battled, however, and Beth Chambers equalised shortly after.
Seaward restored their lead immediately as Niamh Carty doubled their tally and Rea Laudat struck from the penalty spot just before half-time.
Lindsey Morgan pulled a goal back for the visitors with five minutes on the clock, but it was too late for them to mount a comeback.
Stevenage 1 v 9 AFC Wimbledon
AFC Wimbledon earned an emphatic victory on their travels against 10-player Stevenage on Sunday afternoon.
Ashlee Hincks had two of her eventual five in the first five minutes of the game. Katie Stanley added another from close range just before the break.
Hincks sealed her third and fourth in the 52nd and 55th minutes before Rebecca Carter scored two for herself. Hincks added her fifth with 15 to play before Hannah Billingham headed home to make it nine.
Stevenage scored a consolation through Sophie Davidson in the 88th minute.
FAWNL DIVISION 1 SOUTH WEST
AFC Bournemouth P v P Buckland Athletic
Exeter City 4 v 0 Larkhall Athletic
Exeter City made it two wins on the bounce as they hosted Larkhall Athletic.
Emily Toogood fired the hosts into the lead from close range in the 19th minute. Anthea Kaptein then added a second before Phoebe Baker made it three minutes later.
The scoring dried up in the second half, but Connie Pengelly added a fourth in the closing stages of the match.
Maidenhead United 1 v 4 Cheltenham Town
Cheltenham Town moved top of the table with a comfortable victory away to Maidenhead.
Lacy-Jai Liggett opened the scoring early on for the visitors, poking home Georgie-Marie Barbour-Gresham’s cross. And they doubled their lead on the half hour mark when Jade Grove reacted quickest in the box.
Amy Wathan continued her good form with a goal in the 65th minute. Kirsty Matthews pulled one back for the hosts, but Abby Bevan re-instated the deficit to send her side home with the three points.
Portishead 3 v 0 Poole Town
Portishead continued their strong league form with a solid win over struggling Poole Town.
They took the lead with half an hour played when Shannon Holloway turned home Keiana Jones’ ball.
Rosie Hill doubled the score shortly after the break before sealing her brace just before the final whistle.
Southampton Women 2 v 0 Chesham United
Southampton Women came up with a big win against league leaders Chesham on Sunday afternoon.
After a tight first half, Lauren Cheshire fired her side into the lead from the penalty spot. They made sure of the three points in the final minute when Brittany Jeal finished Rachel Okoro’s assist.
