Southampton have announced the arrival of both Emma Harries and Ruby Tucker from West Ham and Aston Villa respectively.
23-year-old forward Harries brings a wealth of experience to the South Coast as she became the club’s second signing of the summer window.
She started her career at Reading before making the move to West Ham in 2023, where she scored on her full debut. She has made 60 appearances in the Barclays WSL to date. Harries has also been capped at U17 and U23 level for England.
“I would say I’m very hard-working, on and off the ball,” she said. “I like to run in behind. I’m very fast and powerful. I always give 110% so I can definitely promise the Saints fans that. Hopefully we can create some really good memories together this year.”
In a second addition to the club, striker Ruby Tucker has signed her first professional contract after arriving on the South Coast.
The 19-year-old has come from Aston Villa where she started her career in their Regional Talent Club. Internationally, she has played for at England U17 and U19 level.
“It’s really exciting, I can’t wait to get started,” Tucker said. “To sign my first professional contract is a dream come true really for me and my family, and to be at this club is just amazing. I spent eight, nine years at Villa, learning a lot from training with the first team last year, so I can’t wait to bring that into playing at Southampton.”
