Nigeria goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has signed for Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 24-year-old joins the Seagulls after five years at Paris FC for whom she made 118 appearances . During her time at the French club, she helped them reach the Champions League Group Stage for the first time. Last month, she was part of the team that won the Coupe de France against rivals PSG, saving two penalties in a shoot-out victory.

On the international stage, Nnadozie has represented Nigeria at U17 and U20 level before moving up to the seniors. At 19, she was named in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad where she became the youngest goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet in their group win over South Korea. She was subsequently called up to the 2023 World Cup where the Super Falcons were knocked out by England in the Round of 16.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Chiamaka to the club,” Head Coach Dario Vidiošić said. “She’s a talented and commanding goalkeeper who will bring consistency and confidence to our defensive line. She has competed at the highest level, with valuable experience in a variety of cup competitions including the Champions League. We’re confident she’ll add both depth and drive to a squad already full of ambition as we continue to build for next season.”
