Lauren Smith has named a 21-player England U19s squad as they look to qualify for this summer’s European Championships.
Both Katie Reid and Michelle Agyemang return to the fold with a spot at the Euros in Poland up for grabs, having spent the last window with the U23s.
England will host League A Group 3 at St. George’s Park with the winner of the group progressing to the Finals. The Young Lionesses will open against Belgium on Wednesday 2 April (14:00 BST) before facing Austria on Saturday 5 April (14:00 BST). They will then finish their Round 2 qualifying against Ukraine on Tuesday 8 April (14:00 BST).
“We’re really looking forward to hosting the other three nations for the final round of EURO qualifying,” Smith said. “Playing with home support will be a great experience and hopefully give the players that added boost as we look to secure our place at this summer’s EUROs. These types of fixtures are crucial for young player development so the players can experience representing their country with that added level of pressure.”
