Rhian Wilkinson has named her 23-player squad that will make history for Wales in Switzerland next month.
Atop the iconic Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon), Cymru’s Head Coach Rhian Wilkinson released the squad of players that will represent Wales at their first major tournament.
The inclusion of Sophie Ingle is the big headline amongst the 23. The 33-year-old is one of the most experienced players in the group with 141 caps but her place with under major doubt after she ruptured her ACL in pre-season. It was an injury that kept her out of the entire 2024/2025 campaign but her recovery is a major boost for Cymru as they face the “Group of Death”.

There is plenty of experience amongst the players led by captain Angharad James. Jess Fishlock and Hayley Ladd are also centurions while the likes of Josie Green, Gemma Evans, Rhiannon Roberts and Rachel Rowe bring plenty of knowledge and maturity to a side for whom there will be many firsts in Switzerland.
An ACL injury has ruled out Laura O’Sullivan-Jones leading to 23-year-old Poppy Soper getting the nod to make up the goalkeeping unit.
The Cymru squad will meet up on 22 June and head for a week-long training camp in Portugal before travelling to Switzerland on 29 June.
They open their European Championships in Lucerne against the Netherlands (5 July) before facing France and England in St. Gallen (9 + 13 July). Over 2,000 Welsh fans are expected to travel to the tournament.
