There’s a lot to look forward to in 2020 in the world of women’s football. Here’s some highlights to keep an eye on.
Wembley, that hallowed turf! Every English footballer and England fan dreams of being at that stadium. There is something magical about the place.
The final International break of the year is here. Euro 2021 Qualifying returns for Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. England host Germany at Wembley before travelling to the Czech Republic in a series of friendlies.
England make a welcome return to home soil after a summer on the road that was full of excitement but ended ultimately in disappointment. Over 30,000 are expected to turn out and watch the Lionesses at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough as they take on Brazil in a series of friendlies that will ramp up preparations for both the Olympics and Euro 2021.
The October International break is here. Euro 2021 Qualifying returns for the Wales and the Republic of Ireland. England host Brazil and travel to Portugal in a series of friendlies. Meanwhile the qualifying round for the U19 European Championships takes places involving all the Home Nations and the Republic of Ireland.
It has been a difficult end to the tournament. To be honest, we can’t even really process today’s game as the USA one still feels like a punch in the gut. This sport has an amazing ability to make you both love and hate it at the same time. We guess that is why it’s addictive, riding those extreme waves of emotion.
There is lot of talk about this being the biggest and best World Cup ever and this has been demonstrated not only by the performances on the pitch but also the media coverage and record TV viewing figures. But it’s doing so much more than that and it’s something we have noticed on a personal level.
The second set of Group matches are over. We’ve had a couple of shocks, plenty of top goals and a few controversial decisions.
