Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland secured an important first win of qualifying, beating the Faroe Islands 6-0 in Group C.
Everton’s Simone Magill scored two and Liverpool’s Rachel Furness got one.
Birmingham City’s new signing, Chloe McCarron, played the full 90 while Durham’s Sarah McFadden captained the side.
Republic of Ireland
Vera Pauw’s Irish side saw their unbeaten run come to an end in Group I. They lost 3-0 in Essen and need a win against the Ukraine next month to keep their Euro 2022 qualifying hopes alive.
Brighton’s Megan Connolly, Denise O’Sullivan and Rianna Jarrett played the whole 90 minutes, as did Liverpool’s Niamh Fahey, Leicester’s Ruesha Littlejohn and Arsenal’s Katie McCabe, who captained the side. West Ham’s Leanne Kiernan played 63 minutes.
Wales
Wales currently sit second in Group C, suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Norway on Tuesday with plenty of familiar faces involved.
Chelsea’s Sophie Ingle captained her side as she won her 100th international cap.
Tottenham’s Josie Green, Reading’s Angharad James, Jess Fishlock, Rachel Rowe and Natasha Harding, Liverpool’s Rhiannon Roberts, Brighton’s Kayleigh Green, and Manchester United’s Hayley Ladd all played 90 minutes.
Tottenham’s Anna Filbey came off with a knock after 85 minutes. Hopefully, she’ll recover in time for the weekend’s North London Derby.
Denmark
Denmark secured two victories in Group B to confirm a top two spot alongside Italy. They beat Bosnia & Herzegovina 4-0 before putting eight past Malta on Tuesday.
Chelsea’s Pernille Harder captained her side in both game and got herself a goal against Malta.
Everton’s Rikke Sevecke and Nicoline Sørensen played the full 90 in both matches, with Sevecke scoring against Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Aston Villa forward, Stine Larsen, played 63 minutes against Bosnia & Herzegovina and the whole match against Malta. She opened up the scoring in that game with a goal in the seventh minute.
Sweden
After opening the international break with an 8-0 win over Hungary in Group F, Sweden dropped their first points of this qualifying campaign with a 1-1 draw away to Iceland.
Chelsea’s. Jonna Andersson and Magdalena Eriksson both played the full 90 in both, with Eriksson getting herself on the scoresheet in the game against Hungary.
Netherlands
Sarina Wiegman’s side are one win away from Euro 2022 qualification in Group A, with a 1-0 victory over Russia in Moscow.
Arsenal’s Vivianne Miedema, Danielle van de Donk and Jill Roord all played in that game with Roord carrying on her scoring form with the only goal of the game. There will be some anxious heads at Arsenal, however, after she picked up an injury.
Manchester United’s Jackie Groenen also played the full 90 minutes while Brighton’s Inessa Kaagman came on as a second half substitute.
Switzerland
Switzerland have secured a top two finish in Group H with a 1-1 draw against Croatia and a 2-1 win over Belgium.
Arsenal’s Noelle Maritz, Malin Gut, and Lia Wälti played the full 90 in both games. Gut scored her first international goal against Belgium.
West Ham’s Alisha Lehmann also featured, also getting herself on the scoresheet against Belgium.
Czech Republic
The Czech Republic sit second in Group D, on the same points with Spain having played one game more. They face Poland twice this week, securing a 0-0 draw and 2-0 win.
West Ham’s Katerina Svitková played in both matches but had to come off with an injury in the second. Matt Beard will be concerned on her fitness ahead of the FAWSL restart in 10 days.
France
France sit 2nd in Group G with a game in hand over Austria after this international break. They maintained their unbeaten run so far, beating Serbia 2-0 and North Macedonia 7-0.
Everton’s Maeva Clemaron came on as a second half sub against Serbia while West Ham’s Kenza Dali did the same against North Macedonia.
Germany
Germany leapfrogged the Republic of Ireland in Group 1 with two more wins over the last ten days. They beat Ireland 3-0 at home before travelling to Montenegro to secure a 3-0 victory there.
Chelsea’s Melanie Leupolz featured in both games. She captained the side against Montenegro and got herself on the scoresheet.
Arsenal’s Leonie Maier came on for the injured Giulia Gwinn in the first half against Ireland. She also played the first half against Montenegro.
Austria
Austria continue to sit top of Group G with a 5-0 win against Kazakhstan.
Arsenal’s Viktoria Schnaderbeck captain her side while Manuela Zinsberger played in goal.
Norway
Norway need one more win to secure their qualification in Group C. They beat Wales 1-0 on Tuesday.
Chelsea’s Maren Mjelde captained the side while Guro Reiten scored the only goal of the game. Maria Thorisdottir also played.
There was also 90 minutes for Everton’s Ingrid Moe Wold, Reading’s Amalie Eikeland and Brighton goalkeeper, Cecilie Fikerstand.
