Japanese international Moeka Minami has become Brighton’s first summer signing.

The 26-year-old defender arrives on the south coast after spending the last three years at AS Roma. While there, she helped Le Giallorosse win back-to-back Serie A titles and featured for them in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

On the international stage, Minami has amassed 61 caps for Japan and played at the last two FIFA Women’s World Cups as well as at the 2024 Olympics.

“It’s great to welcome Moeka to the club,” Head Coach Dario Vidošić said. “She has got vast experience both for her country and in Europe with Roma and she will be an exciting addition to our squad. We are looking forward to helping her settle into a new environment and to working with her ahead of the new season.”
