Forward Tegan McGowan has joined Southampton on loan for the remainder of the 2025/2026 season.

The 21-year-old arrives on the South Coast from Birmingham City where she has spent the the last 18 months. She will go straight into Simon Parker’s squad for their derby against Portsmouth on Saturday evening.
A product of the Chelsea Academy, McGowan made her first foray into senior football with Charlton Athletic. After suffering injury, she returned to score five goals in 17 appearances in the 2023/2024 campaign.
A move to Birmingham followed where she made 17 appearances as the Blues narrowly missed out on the Championship title last season. Her game time has, however, been limited to just three and she is making the move to the Saints in search of more regular game time.
“I’m very happy to be here,” she said. “I’ve been around the training ground and they have got such good facilities and I’m really excited to be around the girls. I’m excited to play, and I hope [the fans] get to see the best of me over the next few months.”
“[The south coast derby] will be such a fun way to start with the girls, and it’s a Saturday night under the lights which is my favourite type of game. I’m excited to see what it’s all about.”
