Aston Villa have announced the signing of Oriane Jean-François from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee.
The France midfielder has become Natalia Arroyo’s first signing of the January window after agreeing a long-term deal with the club.
The 24-year-old arrives after 18 months with the Blues where she made 29 appearances. Prior to that, she spent time with PSG and Paris FC where she began her career.
Jean-François has come through the France youth setup, winning the U19 Euros in 2019. She made her debut for the national team back in 2020 and was a part of the squad that reached the quarter-finals of the European Championships last summer.
“This is another signing that strongly supports our ambitions as a club,” Marisa Ewers, Director of Women’s Football, said. “Oriane impressed throughout the European Championships as a starter for France, consistently performing at the highest level. We believe she will add immediate quality and further raise standards within the group.”
