Birmingham City have announced the signing of midfielder Shanade Hopcroft.
The 28-year-old arrives in Birmingham after two-and-a-half years at Crystal Palace. During her time in south London, Hopcroft helped the Eagles to their first ever Barclays WSL campaign when they won the Championship title in 2024. During that season, she amassed six goals and three assists from midfield, leading to her being awarded Palace’s 2023/2024 Women’s Players’ Player of the Season.
A product of the Chelsea Academy, Hopcroft moved to the USA to attend university and made a significant impact with Daytona State College and the Colorado Buffaloes. She then went on to represent London City Lionesses.
“I’ve seen over the years how Birmingham have progressed each season and how much they’ve invested in the team and the women’s side, and I feel like they really align with my ambitions,” she said. “I’ve only been here one day, but I’ve already felt so welcome, and that already tells me there’s a real togetherness at this club.”
