London City Lionesses have announced that Becky Langley will join Eder Maestre’s staff as First Team Assistant Coach.
Langley arrives in London following six years as Newcastle United manager. During that time, she guided the club to back-to-back promotions that saw them rise from the fourth tier to the second tier of women’s football. She then oversaw their transformation into a fully professional outfit in 2023.
Prior to her time with the Magpies, she has coached at Nottingham Forest, Northumbria University and English Universities Sport.
“I’m really excited to be here at London City,” she said. “To be in the Women’s Super League is something I’m enthusiastic and excited about. I’m delighted to be here and can’t wait to get going. I think the project has no ceiling here, having an owner who is so ambitious for success at London City and in women’s football is really exciting.”
“The talent we have in this squad, it was a no brainer for me to join the project,” she continued. “My role is to support Eder and the team, to be a winning team and to push to be one of the best teams in the WSL.”
