Birmingham City have completed the loan signing of England U19 international Lucy Newell.
The 18-year-old defender arrives for the season from Manchester United after signing her first professional deal with the club in October 2024.
She has represented England at U16, U17 and U19 level and helped the Young Lionesses qualify for next year’s U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
“I’m really excited to be here,” Newell said. “It’s a massive club with huge ambition and I’m looking forward to bringing my skills to the team. WSL2 is a challenging league where the competition is really high. I think playing at Blackburn has taught me how competitive it can be and I can’t wait to play for Blues and fight for that promotion.”
