Ashleigh Neville has ended her near nine-year association with Tottenham Hotspur to join Leicester City on a permanent deal.

The 32-year-old arrives at the King Power Stadium on a one-and-a-half-year contract with an option to extend for another year.

“This is a new challenge, and I want to help the team put as many points on the board as possible,” Neville said. “I’m hoping that the experience I have both on and off the pitch can help. Now is the right time for a new challenge and I’m looking forward to seeing what this new chapter will bring.”

The full back arrives in Leicestershire as one of the most experienced players in the WSL and one of the few who have made her way up through the women’s football pyramid.

Born in West Brom, she began her career at Sporting Club Ablion before moving to Coventry United. She secured a moved to Spurs in 2017 and was part of the side that gained promotion to the WSL in 2019. Since her arrival in North London, she made more than 100 top-flight appearances for the club and became the first Tottenham player in history to reach a century of appearances.
